The government of the United States of America has always been strongly influenced by the super rich. Today’s Supreme Court escalates that corrupt tradition by making some kind of ruling about political party contributions. The details are interesting, I suppose, but it is worth understanding what the contribution limits to politicians are:
- $7000 limit - to a political candidate, $3500 during primaries and $3500 during the general election
- $44,300 limit - to a political party
- $290,000,000 limit - to a Super PAC (just kidding, there is NO LIMIT to Super PACs, Musk contributed over a QUARTER OF A BILLION $ in 2024)
And, oh yes, they elected an astonishing corrupt billionaire, who brags about Taking Care of His Bribers - the fossil fuel industry, the Crypto scams, the Tech Bros, etc. (as long as he gets his cut)
