Republicans are today’s Whigs

 Just as the Whigs broke in two and disappeared in the mid 1800s, separating onto Slavers and Abolitionists - slavers became Democrats and Abolitionists became the newly formed Republican Party, I believe that the Republican Party is coming to an end, separating into MAGA Cult Trump worshippers and Bulwark Republican traditionalists.

I think the Theocratic-Oligarchic-Trump worshippers have killed the Republican Party and it will just go away. Not sure what rises up, but I can’t see the deeply ugly multiple bigotries currently running things lasting very long. 

They are just too unattractive - no, make that just too repulsive - to last in a democracy. That is why they are trying so desperately, and futilely I hope, to end democracy and create an autocracy. 

I hope there is some healing awakening that can follow what I think will be a precipitous collapse. We need them to return to some sense of sanity and free themselves from the deluded hatreds fed by Limbaugh and Ailes and Murdoch and their successor parrots - and of course being fed by the mentally ill demented orange puff face.  

There are just so many who are so out of balance. We need to find a new center. 

Is a bone spurs moment coming?

 Scaramucci, former briefly a Trump communications guy, suggested that once Trump sees he will lose to Harris he will go full “bone-spurs” - that is, he’ll run, same as he did to avoid Viet Nam. And he’ll negotiate zero prison time and drop out of the race, claiming some medical reason.  Blaming someone else, of course. His only concern is himself. 

Or maybe he just flees to Russia? Or Venezuela?

Why not?  Keeps him out of prison…

Afraid to admit a mistake

 I think former Republican, George Conway, may have identified the biggest threat to American Democracy, to America, and to the world - people just don't want to admit they made a mistake.  

They voted for Trump in 2016 and, and what the heck they just found some policy issue that justified voting for him again in 2020.  So, they just overlooked his mental illness, his cruelty, his stupidity, his willful ignorance, his immorality, his avaricious greed, his astonishing blundering of the COVID pandemic, his attacks on the Rule of Law and on Democracy itself.  

Rationalization is a powerful motivator.

My deep hope is that many will see that he is not who they wanted him to be, or hoped that he would be, or pretended that he would be.  

My deep hope is that they Just Say No in 2024.

The survival of the Democratically elected Republic of America depends on it - the survival of the Rule of Law depends on it - the survival of Ukraine depends on it - the survival of Pax Americana depends on it.  Etc.

I voted for Reagan and did again a second time.  It wasn't until the early '00s that I realized that was a mistake.  I wish I had admitted that in 1984.  I voted for W in 2000 and again in 2004.  I later decided that was a mistake.  I wish I had admitted it before the second election.

It is no small thing to admit a mistake. I know from personal experience.  It's hard to do….

Some of what Project 2025 and Schedule F will do

 The good news is that, temporarily, Kamala Harris has taken a small lead in the polls over Donald Trump.  And she and VP nominee, Tim Walz, are running a hope and optimism-based campaign.  That is probably a much better way to campaign than to run a fear-based campaign.  I leave campaigning to them. 

But I want to shine a light on the plans of Trump, and more importantly, his Theocratic, autocratic, white supremacist, passionately dedicated base has been planning a total takeover of the U.S. government ever since the end of the Civil War, since the end of the Jim Crow South, since the end of the Nazi led America First Movement prior to the Japanese invasion, since the collapse of the fascist Joe McCarthy attempt to capture the country.  These folks have been at it for as long as there has been an America.

Back in June, the brilliant comedian John Oliver laid out the highlights of Project 2025, and notes the critical ingredient to its success – Schedule F.  You can find it on YouTube, I expect.

Project 2025 is about a thousand-page detailed plan to establish a new “Deep State” – a theocratic autocratic state that will move more and more toward the tyrannies of other theocracies like Russia, North Korea, Iran, Afghanistan, etc.  Prime targets will be controlling women, gays, all sexual expressions that they are afraid of, ending environmental and financial regulations, etc.  

• Dismantle the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) – expert government weather forecasting
• Eliminate Head Start – you know, kids, screw them
• Establish a “Pro-Life” task force – monitor women’s pregnancies, menstrual cycles, out of state travel, imprison doctors
• Defund the Department of Justice – easier for the crooks and fraudsters
• Dismantle the FBI – easier for the crooks and fraudsters, and spies
• Eliminate the Department of Education – establish religious schools
• Outlaw porn and imprison pornographers – really pissed off at Stormy Daniels
• Round up over 10 million “illegal immigrants” (or random brown folks) and put them into concentration camps before putting them in boxcars to send out of the country
• Use the power of Presidential Unitary Executive Theory (unconstitutional but who cares, the Trump Supreme Court has said anything Trump does as an “official presidential act” is immune from prosecution – who decides appeals? the Trump revolutionary Supreme Court
• Impound funds from anything that Trump or the Heritage Foundation or the Theocrats or the Oligarchs want to stop – like regulation of pollution? Regulation of banking? Inspection of safe working conditions?  Inspection of drug purity?  Etc. etc. etc. 

 Schedule F is what makes all of this work.  The government doesn’t run itself.  Schedule F replaces 50,000 merit based appointees in the government agencies with political appointees, as a start – 2 million at risk.  That means that the scientist and administrators leading the weather forecasting, the scientists and administrators protecting our nuclear power plants and nuclear weapons, our administrators and inspectors of transportation, highways, railways, airways, food safety, drug safety – all of these to be replaced by political appointments.  

What would be the qualifications for these political appointees?  There are about 50,000 who are being vetted for political loyalty now.  The first question is – did Joe Biden steal the 2020 election from Donald Trump?  There is only one “correct” answer to qualify.

How bad will this become?  Venezuela has an autocrat running it, Maduro, following up the previous autocrat – Chavez.  They had one industry – oil.  They replaced the scientists, engineers, skilled leaders in their oil industry with political loyalists to the autocratic regime.  Result?  By getting rid of those who know what they were doing and replacing them with political flunkies the oil production fell from 3.8 million barrels per day to less than one billion barrels per day.  Millions have fled the poverty and corruption. Many are at the U.S. Border. And today’s Wannabe Autocrat blames Democrats for the border crisis. Of course he does. “Rapists” donchaknow?

What will happen to a MAGA-politically correct, Trump-subservient, MAGA-manned, theocracy-subservient, oligarchy-obedient merit-based government agencies?  Economic horror – sexual oppression horror – racist and sexist and misogynist horrors. We become a Trump/MAGA police state.

The revolutionaries are very clear that they hate what America is.  They have been at this for as long as there has been an American democracy thwarting their extremist white supremacist theocratic and oligarchic dictates.  

They will not stop.

But they can be stopped.

The Prosecutor take the stage

 

Kamala Harris took the stage last night and accepted the Democratic Party president nomination with enthusiasm, hope, intelligence, and power. She is the Prosecutor and her opponent is the convicted felon (who promises many more crimes to come)

Hers is a commitment to personal freedoms in response to the theocratic threats, and existing accomplishments, by Trump’s MAGA zealots. Women’s personal freedoms have been and will continue to be assaulted by Project 2025 and Schedule F.  Blacks’ voting freedoms have been and will continue to be thwarted by the Supreme Court’s permission for racist voter suppression.  Rural America and all America will have health care denied and prohibitively costly by Big Insurance controlled MAGAs.

Hers is a commitment to growing the middle class, which is how the economy actually grows - demand side economics, not the chimera of Reagan’s supply side economics. When the middle and lower classes have money they spend it on food, shelter, clothing, transportation, vacations, savings - and the economy grows. 

Trump has no answer to Kamala. Just NxxxxR NxxxxR NxxxxR! And, of course communist! Any Democrat is always labeled a socialist, but Trump, in his crude mind doesn’t deal in half measures, he calls her a communist. Dumb shit. 

Thank you Kamala.  Go get ‘em!

The existential threat to America

 I take the Trump police state threat very, very seriously. Trump is not subtle in his threats.  Quotes from a Thomas Edsel article:

“Trump, who does not speak in metaphors, has made it plain: “If I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a blood bath.” This is a time for imagining the worst. Not a single loyal Republican official has objected to that statement or to similar MAGA warnings about an impending civil war....”

“Trump is in the classic dictatorial position: He needs to die in bed holding all executive power to stay out of prison. This means that he will do whatever he can to gain power, and once in power will do all that he can to never let it go. This is a basic incentive structure which underlies everything else. It is entirely inconsistent with democracy.”

Tomorrow Kamala Harris will give her acceptance speech for the presidential run. This is not one political idea against the other. This is a fight for the existence of American democracy, and the rule of law, and the Constitutional itself. The other side is an extremist authoritarian police state.

Trump = Maduro

In Venezuela, Maduro lost 65% to 31%. He claimed that he won with 51% of the vote. A lie. He has arrested about 2000 pro-democracy protesters. This is how autocracy works. We must not let that happen in America. Trump praises Maduro. Of course he does. 

It’s how police states work.  Elections are meaningless shams.  Maduro, Putin, Xi, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Cuba, China, etc.  Run by tyrants, not by the rule of law, not by free elections.  There is no common ideology, only the rule of a tyrant that “does whatever the hell he wants” (to quote America’s autocrat in waiting)

There is only one issue on November’s ballot - democracy and the rule of law.

Autocrat - “Just do whatever the hell he wants”

 The brilliant Anne Applebaum has been doing deep studies of authoritarian/autocratic/fascistic tyrannies for a number of years and has written " Autocracy, Inc.: The Dictators Who Want to Run the World'".  She reveals that the autocrats are not of any particular ideology, but are of a common nature.  Here is her definition as given on the PBS Newshour Thursday, 8/1/2024:

"The autocrat seeks to rule with no checks and balances, no checks on his authority, no judges, no media.  They want to control everything that happens in the State and make all the decisions."  

Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, Venezuela, are the major autocracies in the world but there are many more.

Add The Former Guy to that list of horribles if he gets reelected.  Or, as he defined it so succinctly by exhorting Putin to "Just do whatever the hell he wants".  That about sums up the "philosophy of the Orange Threat” and all of his kindred autocrats around the world.

She also reveals that the autocrats join together in a supportive network to attack and destroy democracy and the rule of law in democracies, with America being the leading target. Why?  Because if democracy exists in the world, forces for democracy and the rule of law are inspired in their own tyrannical countries and they are threatened.  So, they attack and destroy democracy wherever they can.  

American democracy and the rule of law is under attack - not just by The Former Guy and his MAGA Cult, but by Russia, China, and Iran primarily.  They provide propaganda lies and half truths to destroy our free country by attacking our ability to trust science, the news, the experts, the democratic process itself.  They are sophisticated and practiced and very good at undermining human freedoms, as they have succeeded in their own countries and are targeting the rest of us.

Vote, please, in November while your vote still has a chance of being counted.

Why not Jesus' Beatitudes instead of Moses' Ten Commandments?

With the impassioned charge of fundamental Christians trying to make America submit to their harsh and bigoted dogmas and establish an unconstitutional theocracy, I wonder why these “Christians” seem so different from the beautiful life and teachings of Jesus Christ?

Brilliant author Kurt Vonnegut had this to say about Christians wanting to put the Ten Commandments into public places:..

“For some reason, the most vocal Christians among us never mention the Beatitudes (Matthew 5). But, often with tears in their eyes, they demand that the Ten Commandments be posted in public buildings. And of course, that's Moses, not Jesus. I haven't heard one of them demand that the Sermon on the Mount, the Beatitudes, be posted anywhere.”

So, are Christian fanatics saying they believe more in Judaism than Christ?  

In case you forgot, here are Jesus’ beatitudes:

These are the teachings of Jesus Christ, which should be the foundation of Christianity.  But Christianity today seems to be more about Thou Shalt Nots... and listening to the preachings of bigots cloaking their bigotries in the bible.  

Jesus was a brilliant model of what it truly is to be a man, a real man, a spiritual man.  There is nothing in the beatitudes that justifies the bigotries against non white races, against sexual orientations or identities, against women's empowerment, against non-Christian religions.  

I pray that the life, the teachings, the inner inspiration, and love of Jesus opens the hearts of these fierce puritanical scolds to love rather than condemnation and domination. Maybe, if they allowed that, Christian churches would start to fill up rather than continue to empty out.

The five phases of fascism - we are in phase four

Some Republicans know that Trump is a nutcase, unstable, corrupt, and an asshole but they can’t bring themselves to vote for a liberal. And they tell themselves, foolishly, how bad can Trump 2025 be?  We got through Trump 2017 without disasters, so why get all excited?  I say reason to get very excited is Trump 2025 is going to use Schedule F and Project 2025 to have hard core MAGA, Theocratic, and Oligarchic fanatics in place to finish their history long fascist takeover of America. 

Historian Robert Paxton a bit ago laid out the five phases of fascist takeover of a democracy.  We are in phase four now.

1. Exploit or create discontent (Trump in 2016 was and still is about "American Carnage" - all bullshit but persuasive enough to some)
2. Become a political entity (Trump runs for president - the Heritage Foundation, Evangelical churches, White Christian Nationalists, Opus Dei Catholics, Liberty University, etc. have become big players in politics)
3. Normal right wing party partners with the new radicals (the Tea Party Republicans welcomed the theocratic and oligarchic MAGA revolutionaries)
4. Consolidate power (MAGA and Trump have taken over the Republican Party totally.  Next step is Schedule F and Project 2025 to control all levers of power)
5. Radically change the system of government - MAGA revolutionaries. Theocratic revolutionaries, Oligarchic revolutionaries are the only ones in charge - of everything, of all of our personal, private, and public lives. 

America is seeing all of this now.  America is waking up. 

Trump is just the battering ram for the decades old/centuries old revolutionary anti-democracy fascist movements in America - from the slave owners, to the Jim Crow South, to the Nazi led America First Movement prior to WWII, to the McCarthyism attempted power grab of post WWII, to the MAGA Movement/Theocratic movements of Trump and the extremist Supreme Court of today. 

We get to say no. We still get a vote.  Vote now, please, while there is at least some chance that your vote will be counted. 

The only issue on the ballot is the survival of our democratically elected republic. 

Venezuela’s authoritarian declares election victory, despite overwhelming loss

 In case you were wondering what the American orange wannabe king meant when he tells his "Christian" MAGA cult to vote in 2024 and they won't have to vote ever again because the votes will be "fixed", we have the real world example of the authoritarian tyrant of Venezuela to see for ourselves.  

Sunday's election in Venezuela had exit polling showing a two to one victory for the opposition candidate, Gonzalez - 65% to 31% over the incumbent autocrat.  So what?  The autocrat simply declared victory with phony numbers.  That is how it is done. People are supposed to be confused and not able to figure out who is lying, who is stealing, who is a tyrant.

Why do the authoritarians bother pretending to follow democratic procedures?  I think they see that as a way to give them a modicum of legitimacy in the world.  And that is because there are real democracies in the world, led by the oldest democracy - the United States.  

Why do the authoritarians want to overthrow the U.S. democracy?  So as to eliminate the existence of real democracies in the world, so as to eliminate the need for authoritarian tyrants to pretend to be anything other than brutal kings.

Why is the U.S. attempting to overthrow democratic elections in America?  Because anti-democratic forces have always been a powerful force in America. Starting with Slavery in the South where the majority of the residents were unable to vote.  To the conquest of Native Americans who had no suffrage.  To the attempt to expand slavery into the western territories which ignited the Civil War. To the denial of suffrage to women until the 20th century. To the brutal Jim Crow south denying the Constitutional right of former slaves to vote. To the America First, Father Coughlin, Henry Ford, Charles Lindberg attempt to turn the U.S. into a Nazi country. To the Joe McCarthy "populist" authoritarian takeover attempt to depose President Eisenhower.  To today's orange, mentally ill, charismatic con man trying to use extremist "Christians" as his horse to ride to his own greedy, avaricious, corrupt kingship.

We have seen this play before.  We have defeated it before.  We will defeat it again.

Trump promises to end democracy

Always believe authoritarians when they promise to end democracy.  Here is what the old, mentally ill, degenerating into Alzheimer’s Trump just said:

“ And again, Christians, get out and vote!” he said to a cheering audience. “Just this time. You won’t have to do it anymore. Four more years. You know what? It’ll be fixed! It’ll be fine! You won’t have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians. I love you, Christians! I’m a Christian. I love you. Get out. You gotta get out and vote. In four years, you don’t have to vote again.”

It is not just Trump saying this.  His VP pick is openly saying that a theocratic revolution is what the MAGA Party is all about. (By the way, there is no Republican Party, it was stolen by fanatical extremists)

This election actually has only one issue - do we choose to continue Democracy and the Rule of Law, or do we anoint a king to “Do whatever the hell he wants”?

America needs to take its power back from these extremist revolutionaries. 

Vote. Please. For Democracy. 

George Washington - to - Joe Biden - to - the American People

 George Washington was asked to be the king of America, and because he was a man of honor he said No.  He said the whole idea of America is that it broke away from the rule of kings.  

Now President Joe Biden says the same thing.  He voluntarily steps away from running for a second term and passes the torch to his Vice President, Kamala Harris.  And he very clearly says that her opponent wants America to make him king 

So now it is up to America - do we vote for a man who promises to end the Rule of Law, who “hints” that he will be in office for a third term, who promises to attack and prosecute his perceived enemies - from Republicans who investigated his insurrection, to cabinet members who said he was a dumb fuck, to actual news organizations that reported the actual news, to….all who don’t worship him? 

In other words, do we vote to make a man to be above the law and who turns democracy into a pretense - does America vote to make The Former Guy a king?

Or do we vote for a politician who will preserve democracy and the Rule of Law?  This election is not about policy differences. This election is about preservation of American Democracy itself. 

It is going to get ugly

Kamala Harris is black and she is a woman. Trump and the MAGA extremists are extraordinarily ugly people. I expect that Kamala is fully prepared for racist and misogynist attacks. I also expect these attacks will backfire in the face of these ugly, ugly people.  Trump knows no bottom to his lack of decency and morality. And MAGA either follows him or actually leads the race to the bottom. 

American women are already enraged. They are enraged at having their empowerment over their own bodies stolen from them by the extreme MAGA supreme court which overturned Roe v Wade. 

Blacks are already enraged, having the voting rights being stolen from them by the extremist Supreme Court which overturned the Voting Rights laws, and extremist MAGA politicians who immediately made voting harder for blacks in MAGA states. 

I think now that dear Joe has declined to run, Trump and MAGA are going to get pounded at the ballot box. 

Misogynists are Misogynist. Racists are racist. MAGA is MAGA. And the ugly will be ugly, and I believe they will repulse a substantial majority of America.

We now have someone who can prosecute the case against the lifelong corrupt, cruel, racist, misogynist, criminal MAGA candidate. And his Cult.

Go get ‘em, Kamala.

President Joe Biden has decided to drop out of the presidential race.  He supports his Vice President, Kamala Harris, to be the Democratic presidential nominee  I celebrate this decision and his choice.  Thank you, Joe.

He has been a very effective president, from ending the disastrous COVID pandemic by getting vaccines into most of the nations arms, to his infrastructure bill, to his support for fighting global warming and climate change, to his masterful leading the democratic nations to stop the Russia invasion of Ukraine. Thank you for a job well done 

I support his endorsement of his Vice President. 

Kamala tics three really important boxes.

First, she is a woman and women are the top Democratic constituency, and this should be the women’s revenge election for the outrageous Supreme Court Dobbs decision to overthrow Roe v Wade’s empowerment of women

Second, she is black and the black vote is a significant Democratic voting constituency. I think blacks were angrily supporting Joe because they thought anti-Joe movement was actually anti-Kamala.  

Third, she still tics the Incumbent box and presidential prognosticators Alan Lichtman insists that a challenger overthrow of the incumbent predicts a loss. Kamala is the incumbent party and is not a rejection of the incumbency. 

She may not be my first choice as a campaigner but this former Prosecutor should easily be able to Prosecute her lifelong Criminal Opponent. 

Go Kamala. Take down the orange fascist menace and his extremist theocratic, oligarchic, anti-democracy cult following!

Project 2025 - What mass deportations looks like…

 Trump and Project 2025 promise mass deportations. This is what that will look like.  (Elian Gonzales some years ago…). 

It will be pounding on doors and grabbing people and putting them into government vans. Just like the Nazis they so admire. 

RULE OF REVOLUTION replacing Rule of Law

 The disturbing rulings from the Supreme Court, and many District Courts, and Judge Aileen Cannon who just threw out the indictment of Trump for his violation of the espionage laws of this country on the ludicrous idea that the Special Counsel, Jack Smith, was appointed in violation of the Constitution – all of these are to be understood in a dramatic shift that is happening in the courts.  They are not judges dedicated to the Rule of Law, they are the vanguard of enforcing the Rule of Revolution.  

 

The Rule of Revolution is the revolutionaries get to do, and force others to submit to,  whatever it is that advances the revolution.  For them the pretense of The Rule of Law is just to give twisted and distorted rulings to provide a fig leaf cover of the fanatical extremism of the revolutionary overthrow of America.

 

Lawyers and judges are usually thought to work within the Rule of Law. But these right-wing extremist lawyers and judges are on a decades long, passionately indoctrinated revolutionary movement to overturn the Constitution and establish America as a Christian Theocracy, and uber-wealthy Oligarchy.  Personal empowerments and freedoms be damned!  Environmental protections and worker empowerment be damned!  

 

Theocrats WILL BE OBEYED.  Oligarchs WILL DO WHATEVER THE HELL THEY WANT.

 

They will lose, because Americans are opposed to their extremist dictates, but there is a lot of damage that can and likely will happen before they finally fail and shrink back into oblivion. 

 

Vote, while we still can.

Uncharted times

 We are in uncharted times. And we have entered into an uncharted choice point. Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt yesterday. I thank God that the bullet missed his scull and clipped his ear. One attendee was killed, and two attendees were seriously injured.

 The unsuccessful assassin was a 20-year-old boy firing, what else? an AR style assault weapon. I believe he was wearing a T-shirt praising second amendment rights.

He was a registered Republican, and had donated $15 to a liberal PAC over three years ago.

This is the time of choice. This can trigger a violent response from Trump supporters with their history of violent threats against their perceived enemies. Or It can be a wake up, a call to step back, turn away from this kind of violence, which only backfires in could turn into a nightmare spiral.

The one man who could make that choice to turn away from that violence is Donald Trump himself. He could call for no retaliatory violence from his followers. He could call for no violence against him and his supporters. He could call for peace and calm. 

This is not his nature, and this would take something of a miracle. But I do believe in miracles.

The revolutionary Roberts Court installing Theocracy and Oligarchy

I believe that six of the Justices appointed by Republicans came with an agenda – to overthrow the existing form of U.S government and change it to an Oligarchic and Theocratic form of Government.  And they are succeeding, so far.   Justice Alito, a devoted Catholic extremist, said it clearly when he said that one side or the other is going to win this battle – the U.S. will be either “Godless or Godly”. Sadly, his idea, and the idea of the “Christian Taliban”, is that Godly is actually the establishment of the White Christian Nationalist idea of Godly – rooted in White Supremacy domination over Non-white people - male domination over women – Christian domination over all other religions (Jewish, Islam, Sufi, Mormon, Hindu, Sikh, Tao, Rastafari, New Age) - and eventually, of course, one Christian denomination over all other Christian denominations.  You can’t get more of a violation of the Constitution than violating the First Amendment – establishing a state religion.     Oh yes, there is a worse violation of the Constitution – establishing a King and eliminating democracy itself, by violently overthrowing an election, for example – ala Trump January 6, 2021 – failed - that time, more to come is the promise.   So, here are the horrible, authoritarian/fascist/autocratic Theocratic and Oligarchic revolutionary edicts from the Roberts Court so far:     • Citizen United empowered huge money corporate dark money to control elections by the Oligarchy by declaring Corporations are “people” and have a right of free expression by contributing money to campaigns (lots and lots and lots and lots of $$$$$$$) • Overturning the Voting Rights act to limit voting by blacks (the signature effort of Justice Roberts prior to becoming the Supreme Courts Chief Justice, and he succeeded as the Roberts Court) • Dobbs decision overturning Roe v Wade and is eliminating a fundamental empowerment of women’s lives in America that they had for half a century • Presidential immunity has been given to the authoritarian, mentally ill, former president that allows him immunity from prosecution any time he states that he is doing something as an official presidential action – up to imprisoning and perhaps assassinating political opponents andthose that piss him off   And here are the promises of revolutionary edicts planned to come:   • Elimination of Gay rights and gay marriage, making gay sex illegal so as to “Make America Great Again” • Contraception will be banned (Catholic extremism doncha know) • First amendment freedom from religion will be replaced by a state religion – a theocracy of Evangelicalism, or Catholicism?  Will they fight it out between them? Will they imprison each other? • Presidents will be President in Name Only (PINO) and they will actually be kings, starting with their cult leader, Donald J Trump • They will authorize coups – they already are trying to “Do Whatever the Hell They Want”.     They are going to fail.  The truth is that none of the Theocratic and Oligarchic obsessions are popular.     It is up to America to use the existing powers of the ballot box to keep America a democracy, to keep the Rule of Law in place, and to see and stop the agendas and strategies being used to take our personal freedoms and powers away (all in the name of “Godliness” or “Free Markets” or “Patriotism”).   The Republican revolutionary cult has become the party of domination, the party of taking away personal freedoms.   The Democratic Party remains the party of personal freedoms and personal empowerment.  Or so I believe.
